Youth Club

The 17 South youth clay shooting team is proud to be a part of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), an organization that offers an incredible platform for student athletes from middle school through college. With a focus on providing a supportive environment, SCTP utilizes shooting sports as a catalyst for teaching valuable life lessons and skills that emphasize positive character traits and citizenship values. As members of the team, these young athletes not only develop their shooting abilities but also cultivate qualities such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and respect. Through dedicated practices and competitive events, the 17 South youth clay shooting team embodies the spirit of SCTP, creating a community where young individuals thrive and flourish both on and off the range.

Here is a list of other important information about our youth shooting program:

  • Our youth team participates in shooting sports of trap, skeet and sporting clays.

  • Regular clay shooting season normally starts in February, ends in June, and includes three Club-sponsored matches. However, there is additional opportunity to participate at the SCTP national Championships in July.
